Lynette ackland

- Co Ordinator-

A proud Gugada & Mirning woman, Lynette commenced employment in the Far West Languages Centre in April 2014. Lynette wants to build her skills & knowledge of the local languages to assist revival and restoration within the local region, and assist in building the confidence of other local Aboriginal people to continue to speak their languages into the future.

Pia Little

- Media Officer -

A proud Noongar woman who moved to Ceduna from Perth, Pia commenced employment in March 2021. Pia has worked with her own languages in WA and is very interested in language revival and restoration but also researching Aboriginal history. She wants to help bring Language back to Ceduna by creating resources in local languages and getting to know more of the local people.

Isaiah Coleman

- Administration -

Local Wirangu man, Isaiah, started at the Language Centre as an Admin Assistant in October 2021. He has a keen knowlege and interest in technology and gaming and is hoping to be able to create technology to make learning our local languages fun and engaging.


Casual Employee Pool & Volunteers

At times the Far West Languages Centre engage local Aboriginal people on a needs or casual basis (subject to funding) but we always welcome any volunteers who wish to come in and assist. If you are interested in learning more about your Language or Cultural history, please come in and have a yarn or cuppa………….You never know what could be in our archival records!
